Kachche Kele Ki Pav Bhaji

The moment you think of Pav Bhaji, the first thing to come to your mind is the taste of butter and the garlic. The bhaji that is purely made in a Non-Jain manner using onions, garlic, potatoes, etc. But, have you ever thought of trying to make the Pav Bhaji using kachcha kela? Yes, you read it right. The Pav Bhaji made using kachcha kela is very amazing, and the best part is that you don’t even come to know that the bhaji is made using kachcha kela unless you read the ingredients.

Ingredients:
  • 4 medium raw bananas
  • 8 Pavs
  • 1/4 cup shelled green peas
  • 1/4 small grated cauliflower/cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 3–4 finely chopped green chillies
  • 6 finely chopped medium tomatoes
  • 6 tablespoons Pav Bhaji masala
  • 1 chopped green capsicum
  • Salt as per the taste
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves
  • Few drops of lemon
Making of Kachche kele ki Pav Bhaji:

1. Take the kachcha kela, and pressure cook them in a pressure cooker. Let the kelas get cool. Once they are cooled, peel them and mash them completely. Then boil the green peas in salted water until soft. Drain all the water and mash them lightly.

2. Now, take a pan and heat 3 tablespoons of butter in it. Once the butter is heated, add ginger paste and saute for about a minute. Then add green chillies and saute again. Then add grated cauliflower/cabbage and cook for about a minute.

3. Now, add mashed bananas and mix all things well. Then add tomatoes and let them cook until soft and mushy. Add capsicum and peas and cook again. Now, add Pav Bhaji masala and mix all the ingredients well. Now, add about half a cup of water and let the Bhaji get cooked till the desired consistency is achieved.

4. Once the desired consistency is achieved, add salt and mix well. Now, switch off the gas. Garnish the bhaji with finely chopped coriander leaves, few drops of lemon and a dollop of butter. Serve this yummy Kachche kale ki Bhaji with buttery pav and enjoy eating with your loved ones.
